The fashion world that brought huge success and fame into her world, also invited an urge to explore the glamour beyond that.

Her first television appearance was The Simple Life, in the Fox Reality Shows which continued for five years, starting from December 2003. Nicole Richie thus was her first co-star and she played the role of the adopted daughter of Lionel Richie. She was portrayed as the opposite of what the serial name implied, working in several blue collar jobs, and hooking up with men. There was news of a certain quarrel between Richie and Paris, because of which the serial was delayed in its fourth season. She got a chance in three more serials called the Road Trip, Interns and Till Death Us Do Apart.

After the first major project, Paris was mostly seen in various Television shows in guest appearance, including the Veronica dreams, and The George Lopez Show. The singers also could not resist the charming blonde and cast her in their music videos like "Just Lose it" by Eminem.

Paris then leaped towards the mainstream big screen movies. Perhaps her first ever film role is a very minor one in the movie 9 lives starring Angelina Jolie. Followed by this, Barbie and Cat in The Hat are some of the other films in which Paris appeared with small roles. Raising Helen was the first movie which showed that Paris Hilton's presence can also make the movie a hit in which she played the role of Amber. The Hillz then cast Paris in the role of Heather Smith, and though it was a smash hit, it proved to be the biggest role Paris had till then.

Most of them were the supporting roles but she really left an impact in a few and also earned a nomination in the MTV Movie Awards for the Best Frightened Performance of 2006 and Choice Breakout Award - Female. Her movie House of Wax in the year 2005 brought her significant praise and credibility to her acting talent. She won the Teen's Choice Award "Best Scream" for the same movie.

This boosted her acting career even further and she landed up in the lead roles of the silver screen, with the first two being the National Lampoon's Pledge This! (2006) and Bottom's Up (2006).

Towards the scandals side, Paris has also been an amateur porn actress. This created a lot of controversies in her personal as well as professional life.

She is signed up already for further lead roles, in movies like cartoon series and super hero films. The latest mishap in her life and the jail incident has halted these projects for a certain time, but now it seems she is back into her original self.

The reason why she is not and might not be a very successful actor as thought be her fellow professionals is that this career requires a lot of discipline, patience and dedication. Paris' still childlike nature and partying enthusiasm hinders her profession to climb to its capable peaks.
